With two manufactoring facilities in Gauteng, Danone transforms 5% of all milk produced in South Africa into 150 000 tons of fresh dairy products nd desserts.
 Danone’s evolution in the Southern African market started in 1998 when Danone entered the South African market through a joint venture created with Clover SA.
 In 2010 Danone acquired 100% of the Danone Clover joint-venture and Danone Southern Africa was born. African Expansion for Danone Southern Africa into Africa reaches countries that include Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique.

Danone is the number 1 in the Fresh Dairy market in South Africa with a 43% market share over the seven brands. In 2013 Danone had a sales growth of +9.2% which shows that Danone is a fast growing business with R2.9 billion in sales. Danone is a major contributor to job creation with 500 Danoners, plus 100 Mayo employees, as well as over 2 000 indirect jobs throughout our supplier network.
